It is important to keep the speed constant when running uphill, and not slow down often, as doing so can impact the runner’s endurance.   • Downhill Running: People new to trail running should try to find a slope that is more forgiving. It could be gravel or grass. The runners subsequently have to optimize their form by looking ahead and keeping posture forward a bit, while leaning forward slightly and with a bend in the landing leg to avoid injury. Similar to uphill running, the arms must make small, rounded movements for better balance. Runners must remember to engage their core for stabilization.
